Maserati Bellagio Fastback Touring Goes into Production

Not too long ago at the 2008 Concorso d'Elegance Villa d'Este the recently revived Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera showed up with two concept cars, one sports berlinetta called A8GCS Berlinetta Touring and a homage to the shooting brake of old the Bellagio Fastback Touring.

The coachbuilding company Superleggera has decided to take the fastback into production, limited production actually since they will only build 25 of them. If you want your Maserati Quattroporte to have additional storage for your golf bags, skis or shotguns then head on over to Milan.

Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera hasn't exactly announced pricing but they claim that if you bring your Quattroporte to Milan, the coachbuilding should not push the bill over a super car price tag. Autoblog.nl claims that 200,000 euro excluding taxes will suffice.

Except for the new rear end, the Quattroporte donor car stays the same unless the owner wants a new interior. Everything is possible if your heart so desires, but at a price of course. Power still comes from the 295 kW / 400 hp 4.2 liter V8 engine. The added cargo space, now max 1,500 liters, only ads 50 kg to the total weight of the car and is capable of a 0-100 km/h time of 5.2 seconds.

Maserati MC12 by Edo Competition

Following on from Edo Competition's Enzo Ferrari we reported on yesterday, we can now bring you the Maserati MC12. The famed supercar tuner has tackled the MC12 on numerous occasions in the past including the 755hp MC12 Corsa, 800hp MC12 XX and the 700hp MC12 R therefore it comes as no shock to see yet another version which it being labelled as just a plain old MC12 this time.

The factory MC12 is based on the same chassis as the Ferrari Enzo but due to the extra weight the Maserati version is carrying, performance figures come in slightly lower than the prancing horse version. Edo looks to change this in their version by reducing the MC12's dry weight by 100kg whilst boosting the engine output up to 700hp bringing the performance figures up to the same level as the Edo Enzo with a 0-100km/h time of 3.5seconds and a top speed of 370km/h.

The FXX once again provides the inspiration for the MC12, but whereas the Edo where clever enough to leave the Enzo styling alone, the MC12 does benefit from a few exterior modifcations including a new livery and headlight covers.

Maserati MC12 Corsa by Edo Competition

During last year’s FIA GT championship Maserati drove their competitors into the ground with the MC12 GT1 (which already spawned the MC12). On the occasion of the overall victory, Maserati introduced the limited edition (12 units) MC12 Corsa.

The Über-Maserati weighs nearly 880 lbs less than the base MC12 (2530 lbs instead of 3368 lbs). This corresponds to a power-to-weight ratio of 3.36 lb / bhp. With 755 bhp and 546 lb-ft of torque, the Corsa will run circles around the regular MC12 (632 bhp).

Edo competition does not shy away from extreme sports cars such as this one; instead it gives them finishing touches. Consequently a special suspension system developed by Edo competition and manufactured by KW was fitted. The independently adjustable compression and rebound damping permits truly individual suspension setups. The unique system, with its three different adjustments, allows for low-speed compression damping characteristics to be altered while the high-speed settings, having a strong influence on ride-quality, remain constant. True racing technology for the road! Additionally the nose lift function available on the regular MC12 is carried over to avoid front and underbody damage.

Engine-wise, Edo competition leaves the 755 bhp–strong MC12 Corsa untouched. However, the 6.0-liter V12 now announces its power through a newly developed Edo competition high-flow exhaust system – and it does so with a soundtrack guaranteed to induce goose bumps! The sports exhaust system with electronically controlled butterfly valves provides visual cues to the MC12 Corsa’s power thanks to dual exhaust tips, each with a diameter of 4 in. Edo competition put a strong emphasis on quality during its construction. The muffler and exhaust tips are made from durable V2A stainless steel. And, not to be overlooked: a remote control to adjust the sound intensity has been installed.

For better cold braking properties during road use, Edo competition employed a ceramic composite high-performance brake system with 396 mm (15.6 in) rotors in the front and 360 mm (14.2 in) rotors in the rear along with special brake pads at both ends.

Edo competition had newly developed forged wheels (in black) custom made for the edo MC12 Corsa. On the front axle they’re of size 10 J x 19 and on the rear axle of size 13 J x 20. The wheels employed by Edo competition are shod with 265/35 ZR19 (front) and 335/30 ZR20 (rear) tires.

An official approval for road service is in preparation so that this unique Edo MC12 can also be admired outside of the race track.

Maserati MC12 XX by Edo Competition

The Maserati MC 12XX by Edo Competition features a 6.3-liter V12 engine with 800 bhp, same as the Ferrari FXX.

Modifications:

Maserati Edo Competition MC12

Edo Competition, which specializes in high-performance Porsches (not to mention Ferraris and Lamborghinis), has created a super-fast edition of the Maserati MC12 for a wealthy Russian enthusiast.

Owner Edo Karabegovic managed to squeeze 700 horsepower out of the 12-cylinder engine, after modifying the valvetrain, induction and exhaust systems and the engine electronics. The gearbox also has been beefed up to handle the additional torque. Testing at Hockenheim produced track speeds in excess of 230 mph.

Edo fitted bigger brakes with ceramic discs, as well as a fully adjustable suspension, and replaced the stock Pirellis with Bridgestones. The tuning house also applied faired-in headlamps and an attention-getting paint scheme.

Maserati Quattroporte by Novitec Tridente

Maserati, under the administration of the Fiat Group, achieves with the Quattroporte the succes of early times. Novitec has for a long time already been the embodiment of customized products for Alfa Romeo, Fiat and Lancia, as well as Novitec Rosso enjoys a very good reputation for the individualization of the current Ferrari models. Novitec Tridente is the new line for Maserati.

Novitec Tridente begins with a program for the Quattroporte with the intention to impress. Thanks to the newly adjusted engine electronics and the stainless steel exhaust system, the performance of the V8 aggregate increases to 304kw / 413hp (from 294kw / 400hp). Two 83mm end pipes at both sides give the Quattroporte rear end a fad of aggresiveness, with the sound of the exhaust system underlining this imposingly.

The multipart forged 20 inch rims with Pirelli Pzero Rosso tyres guarantee the best possible contact with the road. The dual adjustable suspension enhances the driving pleasure through its competent driving dynamics, which also allows higher velocity on the curves.
